Jenny Hazelton, President of Orange Push for Palliative, said: “I’m really thrilled that at last we have a really wonderful option for end-of-life care and we will continue advocating. We are not done yet.”

Orange residents have donated a number of items in support of the city’s new palliative care facility at Uniting Parkwood.

Nikki Johnston, based at Calvary Health Care’s Clare Holland House, took out the award on April 9. Her ‘INSPIRED’ project targets integration of specialist palliative care into residential aged care.

On Friday night, amidst some pretty stormy weather, the Art Exhibition “The Eclectic Life” was opened by OP4P’s President Jenny Hazelton. Well known local artists Joy Engelman and Josephine Jagger-Manners put on a beautiful exhibition and had worked hard for many months to make the exhibition a reality. We were all thrilled with the turnout, with over 100 people attending.

Two friends, two women, two travellers, two artists with a lot in common but also very different in so many ways. This exhibition shows the breadth of creativity in just two artists’ lives.

Four dedicated beds for palliative care patients in Orange could be operational by the end of the year after the health service announced it was calling for expressions of interest from providers.

The head of Orange’s Push for Palliative Care group has called for a community member to be included on the panel which will decide which of the expressions of interest to provide the service in Orange is approved.
