Alf Manciagli OAM  1944- 2025

Alf Manciagli was born in Italy and took up photography at an early age. He was a world renown photographer who worked around the globe for international magazines, photo libraries and newspapers.

Alf settled in Australia in 1971. After owning an advertising photographic studio in Sydney he moved to Orange in 1978 where, with his partner Linda Gleeson, he opened Gecko Photographics with major clients and companies such as IBM, Rio Tinto, Newcest Mining & NSW Tourism.

In 2011 Alf undertook a photographic essay of Orange and surrounds with his partner Linda as a tribute to the City he has called home for a large part of his life.

The book is called The Colours of Orange.

Before his sudden and untimely death in June 2025 Alf was working with Orange Push for Palliative  on providing many of his beautiful images of Orange and district for the walls of the existing and new expansion of palliative care at the Orange Hospital.

We had several meetings with him and he generously shared his time, his energy and his images of our wonderful city.

Vale Alf Manciagli and thank you.
